Rather than write out a long, bullet-point list of the various skills we have, we thought we’d tell you this: we have the skills needed to build the compelling experiences that we do, and to build the wonderful puppets that we do. Those skills stretch out across a wide variety of media and industries, but with every single project, as we push the boundaries of what we’ve done before (and, from time to time, what anybody’s done before), we find that we need to acquire new skills, to learn new disciplines, to extend ourselves into new industries. Take
dotBoom, our very first production. In order to produce that show, we had to learn nearly every single skill required to do so; we were, at the time, completely new to not only puppetry, but also to creating online video, and so we were forced to learn a multitude of skills, indeed a large number of trades, in short order, to get the show made.
We think that dotBoom is emblematic of the spirit and energy of Hoggworks Studios: we make big things for small budgets, and the results we get are profound. We look at challenges not as things to shrink from, but to embrace full-on. We don’t stop for a moment to worry if we can do a thing, we wonder only how we will do the thing. And then we do it, with an unwavering dedication to quality and creativity.
